Position Summary
The Senior Accountant Revenue Cycle reports to the Chief Finance Administrator Officer and is responsible for institution-wide revenue recording and recognition. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue analysis, particularly within the non-profit sector, and will be responsible for recording membership, donations, grants, contracts, retail sales, publications, and all other sources. The Senior Revenue Analyst is responsible for managing how donations are recorded and will track the completeness and accuracy of revenue reporting and administration of public funding, contracts, grants, and restriction tracking. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization and requires close collaboration with cross functional departments including our Engagement Operations team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Record cash receipts and maintain supporting documentation. Analyze and reconcile contributed and earned income monthly.
- Transfer restricted donations and bequest to appropriate funds and post journal entries to record this activity as necessary.
- Manage and track restricted donations, ensuring funds are used in accordance with donor intentions. Collaborate with program managers to allocate restricted funs appropriately.
- Assist Development with grant application support and provide input on financial reporting requirements to foundations and other donors who require periodic reports.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assigned bank account activity.
- Record state license tag income and transferring revenue to General Fund as appropriate.
- Analyze and monitor revenue trends, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Provide insight and support for fundraising campaign strategies and initiatives. Assist with budget, forecast and projection processes.
- Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial modeling as needed.
- Assists with year-end audit as assigned.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Other duties assigned by the CFAO.
