Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Infrastructure Technician
FLSA: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Three or more years’ experience installing, terminating, and testing CAT5e/6/6a, fiber optic, and COAX cabling preferred
-
BICSI ITS Installer I or equivalent experience preferred
-
Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless network infrastructures preferred
-
Experience installing and troubleshooting projectors and other audio/visual equipment preferred
-
Experience installing and troubleshooting electronic access control hardware preferred
-
Good oral and written communication skills
-
Works well as a part of a team

Experience working in a school district preferred
-
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. up to a height of 4 feet occasionally
REPORTS TO: Network and Infrastructure Manager
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month (261 days) with benefits provided according to Classified Agreement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Effectively install, test and maintain cabling systems for data networks per national electric code and district standards.

Effectively troubleshoot networking problems related to network hardware devices.

Effectively install and maintain professional audio/visual installations.

Promptly respond to technology work orders related to cabling infrastructure.

Process move/add/change requests for networked devices.

Communicate effectively with staff regarding maintenance of technology.

Effectively diagnose computer malfunctions relating to faulty hardware, software, server and/or network.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Attend training as required by administration.

Special technology projects as required.
