Apple Lane Animal Hospital is excited to announce we are seeking to hire a motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are interviewing technicians with 2 years of experience. We are a busy, fast paced practice seeking individuals that thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment. As doctors, we rely heavily on our staff to keep the flow of the clinic going. Individuals that are dependable with good communication skills and a team mentality with an eagerness to learn would fit right in. Our clinic utilizes modern technology to practice best medicine including digital x-ray, in-house lab, dental x-ray, and much more. We see a diverse caseload from illness, dental care and surgical cases but our main focus is strong preventative wellness care to help pets live healthier and longer lives. As a technician you will be a pivotal point of contact for our business, your interaction with clients and patients is crucial and allows the veterinarian to perform their job duties with quality and efficiency.
The Ideal candidate will possess:
- A heart to serve our clients and patients
- Proven work experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant
- Ability to use Practice Management Software with a scheduler
- Hands on experience with patient positioning and restraint (required)
- Proficiency in anesthetic assistance
- Professional attitude and appearance, punctuality and reliability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and anticipate the doctor’s needs
- Reliable transportation
- The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 40 pounds
- Team mentality
- High stress tolerance to thrive in a high pressure/fast paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome clients and patients as they arrive
- Educate clients on preventative and illness information
- Performing fecal flotations, cytology and other diagnostic tests
- Answer, screen, forward and schedule incoming calls on a multi-line phone system
- Assist in patient treatments, administration and dispensing medications, anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
- Performing radiographs
- Ensure clients are educated in post-operative or illness discharge instruction and medications.
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Collecting point of service payments
- Ensure kennels are sanitary and linens are clean.
- Keep updated records of communications with clients and patient medical records
- Stocking supplies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
