Perched above the 18th green of the Apple Tree Golf Course, the Apple Tree Grill and Slice Outdoor Lounge is one of the Yakima Valley’s most popular dining experiences. Known for its legendary food and drink with spectacular views, the Apple Tree Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday Brunch. With its beautiful setting overlooking the golf course, Apple Tree also hosts several weddings, receptions, banquets, holiday parties, outdoor concerts, and F&B events associated with several large golf tournaments.
ABOUT THE EVENT COORDINATOR
This is an exciting opportunity to step in and serve as the primary point of contact for all F&B events at a successful food and beverage operation. As Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of Apple Tree Events, working closely with Apple Tree Clients and the Apple Tree FOH Lead and Kitchen Manager/Chef.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP(S)
Event Coordinator will report to the FOH Lead and Kitchen Manager/Chef.
JOB DUTIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for F&B event clients from inquiry through execution of the event.
- Ideal candidate would be highly organized and have experience with problem solving, negotiating, selling, listening, and ultimately executing in a manner that exceeds the expectations of the client.
- Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends as needed with an emphasis on working the majority of the major events.
- Responsible for building event schedules for each event on a weekly basis and reviewing with the FOH Lead and Kitchen Manager/Chef. Details included but not limited to staffing needs (including bartender), labor schedule requests, labor cost breakdown, length of the event, set-up and breakdown requirements, etc.
- Communicate with the FOH Lead and Kitchen Manager/Chef on a daily/weekly basis regarding questions, obstacles, as well as short and long term planning on events.
- Partner with the FOH Lead, Kitchen Manager/Chef and Golf Operations Manager in the planning, set-up, and execution of all food and beverage for Golf Tournaments and Special Events for Apple Tree Residents.
- Build and maintain relationships with recommended service providers from the area, including but not limited to DJ’s, florists, photographers, and cake providers. Make recommendations based upon trusted partnerships.
- Partner with FOH Lead and Accounting Department on event service charge distributions as needed.
- Partner with Accounting Department to ensure timely payment on all event accounts receivable.
- Partner with FOH Lead and Marketing Team on outbound marketing strategy to grow the total number of events at Apple Tree. Start with renewals, move to events that used to be at Apple Tree but left to other venues, then seek out new clients and new events that would be a right-fit for Apple Tree.
- Fill server shifts as needed at the Apple Tree Grill (particularly during the slower event season).
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning and management, hospitality, and/or catering
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
WAGE
DOE – $18.00 - $19.00 per hour 15% of all event service charge collected proportionate service charge collected based upon hours worked tips when working F&B serving shifts.
