The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for performing a full range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Accounts Payable :
Process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Maintain vendor files and records.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Prepare and process vendor payments.
Accounts Receivable :
Process customer invoices and credit memos.
Maintain customer accounts and records.
Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
Assist with collections efforts as needed.
Payroll Processing :
Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including data entry, tax calculations, and check preparation or direct deposit.
Maintain employee payroll records.
Prepare and file all required payroll tax reports (e.g., 941, W-2, etc.).
General Ledger Accounting :
Prepare journal entries for various transactions.
Reconcile bank accounts.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned :
Assist with budget preparation and analysis.
Assist with audits and tax filings.
Provide support to other departments as needed.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Accounting preferred.
5 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage experience is a plus).
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
