Location: Summerville, SC
Pay: $17.99/hr
Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday-Friday, between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Assignment Length: Estimated 18 weeks or longer
About the Role
We are seeking a Paralegal to support attorneys, providing legal assistance in Family Court cases related to child protection, foster care, adoption, child day care, and adult protection. The ideal candidate will have prior legal experience and strong organizational skills to assist with case preparation, legal document management, and courtroom support.
Key Responsibilities
-Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and proposed orders, using the -Legal Case Management System (LCMS).

- Maintain accurate case records, inputting party details, hearing outcomes, and key documents.
- Organize and prepare case files for Family Court proceedings.
- Assist attorneys by filing pleadings, notices, and motions with the Clerk of Court.
- Attend court hearings, take accurate notes on proceedings, and ensure smooth case flow.
- Collect and verify witness statements, reports, and evidence for court use.
- Act as a liaison between attorneys, staff, law enforcement, and Family Court representatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in a legal office or providing administrative support to attorneys.
- A college degree may substitute for part or all of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate and prior paralegal experience highly preferred.
