We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager in the Greater Chicago Area. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a construction team specializing in general civil contracting, including road and bridge construction, utilities, and site work. This position involves duties both in the office and on construction job sites.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Develop, maintain, and update cost-loaded and resource-loaded CPM schedules.
- Prepare monthly schedule reports and narratives.
- Create and update two-week look-ahead schedules.
- Prepare construction plans, safety procedures, and related documentation.
- Prepare and update construction cost and labor productivity reports.
- Manage requests for information (RFIs), change orders, correspondence, and other transmittals using project management software.
- Track work quantities and prepare monthly payment requisitions for owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Review and approve material and subcontractor invoices.
- Supervise project and field engineers while coordinating efforts with superintendents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5 years of field experience in heavy civil construction.
- Proficient in standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe).
- Skilled in project management software, such as Timberline.
- Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications across all disciplines.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling is a plus.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.
