Senior Estimator – Mission Critical Construction

Overview :

Join an industry-leading team specializing in mission-critical construction, delivering high-value, multi-million-dollar data centers and complex projects for top technology and telecommunications clients nationwide. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the success of large-scale, MEP-intensive projects while playing a critical role in project feasibility, cost analysis, and strategic planning within a rapidly growing sector.

Key Responsibilities :

Estimating & Preconstruction Leadership :

Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for mission-critical projects, focusing on MEP systems and structural components.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive takeoffs, budgets, and bid proposals.
Collaborate with project teams, clients, and trade partners to define project scope, identify risks, and provide value engineering solutions that optimize cost and performance.

Strategic Communication & Collaboration :

Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, field teams, subcontractors, and clients during the preconstruction and estimating phases.

Participate in client presentations, delivering clear and confident project cost breakdowns and feasibility analyses.

Market & Vendor Analysis :

Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service.

Monitor market trends and cost drivers, leveraging insights to inform project estimates and strategic decisions.

Project Budgeting & Risk Management :

Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and alternative methods to meet client objectives while maintaining project viability.

Provide leadership during bid reviews and contract negotiations to align financial and operational goals.

Develop and manage preconstruction schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and timelines.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience : Minimum of 6 years in estimating roles, with a proven focus on mission-critical construction and MEP-intensive projects.

Key Skills :

Expertise in developing detailed cost estimates and leading preconstruction processes for complex projects.

Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to identify project risks and opportunities for cost efficiencies.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities to engage with clients, teams, and external partners effectively.

Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and tools (e.g., ProEst, OST, or similar).

Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
