JOB DESCRIPTION - Vice President of Manufacturing
Summary of Role:
Join a leader in the supplement manufacturing industry committed to delivering safe and effective products to our customers. Reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, this position maintains oversight of the Company’s operations including Manufacturing, Packaging, Purchasing, MRP, Engineering, Warehouse & Shipping, Customer Service, ERP / IT, and Quality, as well as other departments. The Vice President of Manufacturing is heavily focused on operational execution and excellence, driving relentlessly to achieve or better the strategic plan and successive annual budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and directs all aspects of the Company’s operational policies, goals, objectives and initiatives.
- Responsible for the attainment of short and long-term financial and operational goals.
- Developing and cascading the organization's strategy/mission statement to the lower-ranking staff, and implementing appropriate rewards/recognition and coaching/corrective practices to align personnel with company goals.
- At the direction of the CEO and Board of Directors, marshals limited resources to the most productive uses with the aim of creating maximum value for the company's shareholders.
- Reviews performance against operational plans and standards. Communicates to CEO and Company Directors on interpretation of results and appropriate action plans.
- Monitors and evaluates workflow and production methods with senior management and makes recommendations for process improvements.
- Monitors workforce, equipment and facilities utilization.
- Provides day-to-day business leadership and management as part of the executive management team.
- Develops and contributes strategic thinking to drive overall business performance and shareholder value.
- Provides and executes high-level planning by prioritizing customer, employee, and organizational requirements.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position has overall supervisory responsibility for all corporate operations.
Working Conditions:
- This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degrees in business, economics, statistics, or related fields.
- At least 10 years of strong operational experience.
- Must have full P&L experience and responsibility in previous or current position.
Success Factors:
- 10 or more years’ experience in consumer products and solid dose / liquid dose manufacturing. International and retail experience a plus. Health supplements or other regulated business experience desired (FDA, SSCI, NSF, Organic / Kosher etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to drive profitability growth through automation and cost reduction initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people skills enabling effective dialog with employees on all levels and with varied backgrounds and professional sophistication. Experience interrelating with Sales and Marketing function is key.
- Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the corporate mission
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities in people and systems.
- Hands-on experience managing ERP / CRM/ IT a plus.
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
