Accounting Assistant II
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports and statements
· Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions are processed accurately and timely
· Ensure proper coding and reporting of account payable invoices
· Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy in a timely manner
· Maintain accurate outstanding check lists
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
· Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaid expense amortization, depreciation, etc. and maintain financial documentation to support
· Assist in variance analysis; month/month and year/year
· Assist in cash flow monitoring, including preparing bank deposits
· Upload Positive Pay files as required, ensuring fraud prevention related to multiple bank accounts
· Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial matters; maintain proper documentation and support for internal/external audits by providing financial data and complete reconciliations
· Assist in financial and ESOP audits by providing necessary documentation/schedules and support
· Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned
· Compile data and prepare mandatory federal reports; assist in preparing financial disclosure and compliance reports as required
· Compile data and prepare unsecured property tax information for each location
· Help maintain internal financial controls by ensuring adherence to approval processes for expenditures and reimbursements
· Support in the expenditure reimbursement process
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· Minimum of 3 years work experience in an accounting related function
· Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principals
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data-entry and reporting
· Proficiency in Excel
· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Experience in a corporate accounting environment
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Work Environment:
· Office-based position with standard business hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.16 - $31.87 per hour
