What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Supervisor position at applied.valhalla.stage?
The Collections Supervisor is a key member of the Shared Services group, supporting the Cash Application and Collections team. In collaboration with the Collections Manager, this position will oversee the department by providing motivation, strategy, and direction to staff to meet departmental goals. The Supervisor will coach the team; ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.
- Maintain our commitment to continuous improvement by improving the collection process along with the quality of service provided to our Customers
- Adopt new business processes that promote automation and reduce complexity
- Collaborate with Field and Central teams to determine root causes of issues leading to past-due invoices; implement action plans to eliminate these root causes
- Minimize exposure to bad debt
- Proactive review of outstanding balances
- Proactive identification of risk accounts
JOB DUTIES
- Oversees the department’s efforts in managing customer accounts

- Compiles and implements recommendations towards improving Accounts Receivable (reduction of past-due balances, reduction of remittance issues leading to unapplied payments)
- Reporting results to department management and/or Shared Service customers
- Communicating goals and objectives to team members as directed by the Collections Manager
- Understand training needs of the team and coaching associates

- Utilize tools (i.e. SAP, HighRadius) to support decision making, and proactively communicate with stakeholders regarding progress
- Analyze business processes and system performance, and identify improvement opportunities
- Collect, analyze and report customer accounts receivable metrics to track deliverables and effectiveness
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years supervisory experience
- 2-5 years Collections management experience
- High School Diploma or GED Required; College degree in Finance or Accounting Preferred
