What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at applied.valhalla.stage?
What you’ll do:
This role will work closely with our sales engineers and directly with customers to present engineered solutions. Members of the engineering team collectively develop solutions and generate detailed project specification documents. Mechanical engineers will design and then estimate material cost, lead times, and labor to generate final customer quotations. Some more details about what you will be doing includes the following:
- Effectively and creatively apply technology and products that Gibson Engineering represents to troubleshoot or automate our customer’s challenges.
- Generate concepts and perform technical feasibility and proof of concept work to establish confidence for potential automation solutions.
- Prepare proposals with 2D & 3D designs for projects involving machine frames, safety guarding, automation solutions, and complete automated machine designs.
- Develop, review, and maintain drawings, BOMs, project specifications, and engineering change documentation.
- Active participation on the production floor, as required, to help build prototypes, instruct assembly technicians, and test and inspect finished products.

Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in a mechanical design role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- SolidWorks software design experience.
- Strong computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets).
