Chief Nursing Officer Job Summary:
Appling Healthcare is looking for a Chief Nursing Officer to oversee the quality and efficiency of our patient care. This is a strategic planning role that involves maintaining standards of care, monitoring nursing staff improvements, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You also review department manager reports, communicate issues with hospital leadership, and help with budgeting.
Chief Nursing Officer Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure the high quality of nursing services
· Use strategic planning to balance efficient and optimal patient care
· Create and maintain standards of care
· Monitor quality initiatives and improvement
· Assist with budgeting
· Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
· Review reports and communicate issues with other hospital leadership
· Responsible for organized Nursing Services using the 5 primary domains of leading, collaborating, facilitating, integrating, and evaluating
· Will work closely with CEO to improve quality, patient safety and overall hospital community satisfaction
· Maintains confidentiality at all times in accordance with PHI
· Attends mandatory meetings
· Provides leadership in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Appling Healthcare
Chief Nursing Officer Requirements, Education and Qualifications:
· Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (GA)
· A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required; a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred
· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a nursing or leadership role
· Must possess strong clinical knowledge
· Demonstrated ability to lead and develop nursing staff, promote a culture of safety and quality, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
· Proven track record of successful strategic planning, budget management, and regulatory compliance
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of organization
· Experience in driving performance improvement initiatives and implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes
· Knowledge of healthcare policies, regulations, and industry trends.
The nurse executive must be a licensed registered nurse with a master’s degree, actively pursuing a master’s degree, or have 3-5 years of nursing experience, including 3 or more years in a leadership role.
Physical Demands:
Must be capable of walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 8 hours a day, possibly 12), kneeling, bending, stooping and pulling are all frequently done during a normal workday.
Working Environment:
Is subject to normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
