What:
We're looking for entry level and experienced security professionals for event security as needed during event season, usually February through December. This hiring notice is to build a foundation of security professionals we can offer shifts to as needed, and to build a base of personnel as the company expands.
This is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in supplementing their income while attending events, gaining experience in the security industry, and providing a service to the public.
An ideal candidate will possess:
- A current Oregon DPSST Armed/Unarmed Professional Security certification (or the willingness to obtain)
- Currently possess (or are willing to obtain): Appropriate law enforcement style duty gear (see requirements below)
- Relevant trainings and experience
- A valid OLCC server's permit
- Oregon DPSST Unarmed Professional Security certification is acceptable as well if willing to upgrade to Armed/Unarmed
Some of the requirements for certification are as follows.
Private security providers must be:
- At least 21 years of age; and
Must have earned one of the following:
- A high school diploma; a General Education Development (GED) certificate; or a two or four-year, post-secondary degree issued by an accredited degree-granting college or university.
Be of good moral fitness as determined by a background check, department investigation or other reliable sources. A lack of good moral fitness includes, but is not limited to, mandatory and discretionary disqualifying misconduct as described in OAR 259-060-0320.
Employees are responsible for providing their own:
- Operable semi-automatic firearm in good condition (optic and light optional) and of appropriate defensive caliber, (9mm, .40cal, .45cal)
- Appropriate defensive ammunition (HP or JHP, no FMJ/ball)
- Minimum of 2 extra mags (3 total)
- Minimum level 2 retention holster (level 3 strongly preferred, no SERPA firearm holsters)
- LE appropriate, operable, and secure duty belt and duty gear/MOLLE pouches
- LE appropriate OC canister (spray, stream, gel, foam)
- LE appropriate flashlight
- All black patrol/tactical/hiking style boots/shoes
All employee provided gear will require inspection, reasonable competency demonstration, and approval by APRS management.
APRS will issue uniform shirts with patches, body armor with MOLLE outer carrier, and headwear (if requested)
Prior to shift APRS will issue
- Radio and side mic and earpiece
- Body camera
- Any site specific equipment

Event sites vary within Central Oregon
When:
Hiring immediately for events throughout the summer.
How:
- Provide common sense security services with honesty and integrity, following the Oregon DPSST's security certification training, within the boundaries of the Oregon Revised Statutes, within the limits of your training.
- Conduct regular patrols or maintain post of assigned areas to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe environment
- Enforce access control procedures to prevent unauthorized entry as directed
- Trespass notice/warning issuance and criminal trespass deterrence
- Alcohol related duties like checking IDs and monitoring for visible intoxication as directed
- Respond promptly, safely, and within the limits of your training to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, or incidents of violence
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including incident reports and shift logs
- Contact and cooperate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary
- Act as a good witness for law enforcement
