We are seeking an Accountant / AR Specialist in the healthcare/medical industry ideally with experience in Sage and custom reporting through an EMR system.
Location: Neptune, NJ
CONTRACT Duration: 6 months (can extend and convert full-time)
Hybrid environment: Rotating on-site / remote (1 week on-site, 1 week remote)
Hourly rate: $40 - 45/hr (This is open to discuss based on experience /-)
In this role, you will play a vital part in managing patient financial records, ensuring accurate billing, and processing insurance claims efficiently. Your expertise in bookkeeping and financial operations will directly support our organization’s financial health and ensure a seamless patient experience.
***Must have experience with accounting in a medical / healthcare company
Key Responsibilities
Patient Financial Records Management
- Maintain and update patient account finance records with accuracy.
- Record revenue on patient accounts, day sheets, and office software programs.
- Manage aged accounts and track outstanding balances.
- Prepare monthly operating and financial reports.
- Record accounts receivable and process payments.
Financial Transactions & Reporting
- Send statements on outstanding accounts and follow up on payments.
- Prepare and make bank deposits accurately and timely.
- Perform daily reconciliation reports and manage petty cash transactions.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in medical or healthcare billing.
- Familiarity with electronic billing systems.
- Ability to analyze financial records and prepare concise reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience with accounting and billing software.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
Salary : $40 - $45
