About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time / permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.
Client Industry: Real Estate
Location: Buckhead, GA (Near Georgia Tech Campus)
On-site/Hybrid requirements: Starts on-site then will go to 3 days on-site / 2 remote.
Salary: Open to seeing candidates between $85 - 110k
Top 5 Skills & Qualities:
- Real estate industry background is a huge plus, but not required
- Capable, committed, and strong communicator who can take ownership of tasks
- Self-starter who picks up on things quickly and can run with them
- 3 years of accounting experience (ideally closer to 5 years)
- General ledger maintenance and monthly/quarterly closes, plus experience working with third-party property management clients
General Function:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting functions, including monthly and quarterly closes, financial reporting, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. This role also works directly with third-party property management clients and joint venture partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and assist with monthly and quarterly closes
- Prepare and analyze GAAP-based monthly financial statements and supplemental reports
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly reporting packages for joint venture partners, lenders, and third-party owners
- Utilize Yardi, MRI, and other accounting software to ensure efficient data flow and reporting
- Prepare journal entries and assign appropriate account classifications
- Complete monthly account reconciliations
- Review and assist with accounts payable processing and invoice review
- Support the preparation of capital funding requests for joint venture partners and third-party portfolios
- Handle annual tenant reconciliations for both company-owned and third-party properties
- Assist in preparing annual budgets for company-owned and third-party managed properties
- Support external auditors, ensuring they have access to necessary records for annual audits
- Prepare 1099s and 1096s
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and portfolio-level financial analysis, including internal rate of return (IRR) calculations
- Prepare custom reports and handle special projects in collaboration with joint venture partners
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
- 3 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with stable work history
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience with Yardi or MRI a plus
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
