JOB SUMMARY:
Operate lathe, mill and/or saw machines to fabricate metal parts in accordance with Company procedures and the APSCO Quality Manual.
NOTE: This position is classified as a safety sensitive position under Oklahoma House Bill 2612, also known as the Unity Bill

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate various machines (saw, lathe or mill) with limited or no supervision.
- Pull and read blueprints and drawings to determine specifications, method, and sequence of operation to be followed in fabrication of required parts.
- Produce product parts per customer orders and inventory needs, or as assigned by Supervisor.
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Complete appropriate Shop Traveler for each batch of parts and work pieces assigned and take to Quality Inspector.
- Keep area organized and clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Technical School
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years experience working on mills and/or lathes
Must be able to:
- Operate proficiently various mills, lathes and saws
- Read blueprints, calipers and micrometers
- Deburr own parts
- Solve complex shop math
- Programming skills a plus but NOT a requirement
- Maintain attention to detail and appreciation for quality

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires bending, stooping and maneuvering around obstacles. The employee must routinely lift 30 pounds and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area
