Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Clinic Director, the Recovery Coach/Patient Care Associate is a front line position and plays a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance misuse and behavioral health challenges. This position involves providing guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to clients, helping them navigate the complexities of recovery. The Patient Care Associate/Recovery Coach will utilize their knowledge of behavioral health systems and crisis management techniques to empower clients and foster resilience.
Responsibilities
- Provides recovery support through self-directed, strength based principles based on the Recovery Coach Ten Components of Recovery.
- Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior changes and enhance client engagement.
- Assists clients in developing coping strategies and life skills necessary for maintaining sobriety and overall well-being.
- Facilitates access to community resources, including support groups, housing, employment services, and healthcare providers.
- Conducts crisis intervention as needed, employing effective crisis management strategies to ensure client safety.
- Collaborates with other professionals in the behavioral health field to coordinate care and support for clients.
- Maintains accurate documentation of client progress and interactions in compliance with organizational policies.
- Follows established guidelines.
- Follows both written and verbal instructions.
Qualifications
- Experience or education in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work within an often busy and sometimes challenging environment dominated by constant interruptions.
- Knowledge of substance misuse and counseling principles and behavioral health systems is essential.
- Skilled in crisis intervention and crisis management are required.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks..
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain the highest ethical standards including disclosure of real and potential conflicts of interest with patients and their families.
- Previous experience in mentoring or coaching roles is a plus.
- A genuine passion for helping others achieve their recovery goals is essential for success in this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.40 - $22.07 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
