Position Description Summary
APT Research is hiring a full-time Senior System Safety Engineer to provide support for a new missile system integration program. The successful candidate will apply system safety principles to analyze and recommend design features that meet safety criteria in system design to control or eliminate hazards. The role includes active participation in the design of products / systems, associated support equipment and facilities.

Daily tasks include :
- Perform MIL-STD-882 analyses of a high-profile government program
- Review hardware designs to ensure they meet the Safety requirements for the program
- Development of safety documentation to support customer and test / operational range requirements
- Perform audits of operational areas and report the effectiveness of system safety program
- Evaluating the interrelationship of system safety requirements and other aspects of concept design
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include : concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraint
