Job Summary
APTIM is seeking an experienced Field Work Superintendent with Nuclear and Radiological Controls experience to support radiological Decommissioning and Dismantlement field operations for our project in Fort Greely, Alaska. This role will be reporting to the Site Manager, the Nuclear D&D Field Work Superintendent is responsible for supervising work-related staff and activities in the field of nuclear decommissioning and demolition (D&D). The role involves overseeing hazard management, safety, and compliance with regulations during project execution. The Superintendent ensures that work activities are conducted in accordance with nuclear safety protocols and that necessary safety measures are followed.
This role is based out of Fort Greely Alaska. The role provided a Domestic Assigment Living package and annual retention bonuses for our 5 year project.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- 10 years' construction experience with 5 years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity (working on USACE or DOE nuclear D&D projects)
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Aptims policies, procedures and software programs.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues and problems that may arise.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
- Supervise and oversee a work group consisting of 2-3 Field Work Supervisors and 20-40 specialized laborers performing decommissioning and demolition of nuclear systems, components, and structures following prescriptive work control documents
- Perform work in a safe, effective, and compliant manner in accordance with project requirements
- Safely execute the daily work plan
- Provide technical input into work planning documents
- Raise issues/concerns to the Site Manager
- Report directly to and assist site manager in day to day activities as directed
- Has stop work authority
- Mentor and grow Field Work Supervisors and craft
- Assist in managing contract administration as required
- Strive to bolster and maintain good client relations involving staff on site.
- Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Review, approve and negotiate change orders
- Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
- Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes
- Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years performing high risk work in a highly regulated environment
- Must possess 5 years nuclear experience, preferably at a nuclear D&D site
- Must have excellent safety performance and judgement
- Strong communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) required
- Construction Field Work Supervisor Qualification Card desired
- Radiological Worker and HazwopeR training desired
