What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Agent position at APTIM?
Job Overview :
The Procurement Agent is responsible for the purchase of goods and services on purchase request orders submitted by the various departments withing the project purview. This individual is responsible for a myriad of processes including supply chain management, evaluating suppliers and contract negotiation.
Key Responsbilities / Accountabilities :
Learn Procurement processes
Learn and work within the Procurement systems for Purchase Orders and Subcontract Agreements issuance
Ensure all Purchase Orders are complete and reference all necessary conditions and deliverables, including signatures, marking, packaging, payment, documentation, and shipment details
Source & on-board new vendors to meet customer and company needs
Negotiate cost to ensure that approved purchases are cost-efficient.
Maintain good relations with customers / vendors
Reconcile purchasing card receipts.
Maintain purchase order files to ensure compliance
Perform bid evaluations
Coordinate review of Proposals, Terms and Conditions, Change Requests, Invoices and other internal and external deliverables with Legal, Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Senior Supply Chain Management
Basic Qualifications :
Education :
Minimum H.S. graduate. Some college preferred.
Minimum 0-3 years of verifiable work experience in an office environment.
Customer Service experience in a professional / Corporate environment
Experienced with Outlook, MS Word, Excel
Experience :
1-3 years previous experience acceptable for role.
3-5 years of experience full proficiency in role.
Licenses :
- Must possess a valid California driver's license.
Skills Required :
Utilize catalogs and parts manual to obtain stock numbers, parts and materials accurately and efficiently.
Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to be accurate in all phases of work performed.
The applicant may be required to demonstrate competency in above listed areas prior to employment.
Communication Skills :
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
