Job Summary
Lead Phlebotomist
Location: Greenville Outpatient Clinic (GOPC), Greenville, SC, and Columbia VA Healthcare System (CVAHCS), Columbia, SCContract Period: Base Year Four Option YearsSchedule: Various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Hourly: 27.50/hr plus 4.93 for Health and Wellness
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of phlebotomists at assigned locations.
- Ensure staff compliance with VA policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures.
- Train new staff and provide continuing education for existing personnel.
- Monitor workload distribution, performance metrics, and reporting.
- Handle complex or difficult phlebotomy procedures and troubleshoot specimen collection issues.
- Assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels and scheduling coverage.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience in training or supervising phlebotomy staff.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Compliance with all phlebotomist qualification requirements.
