Aqrawi & Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with legal and administrative tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent client service. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, familiarity with legal processes, and proficiency in maintaining confidential information.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative Support:
    • Prepare and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
    • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments with clients and court officials.
    • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files.
  2. Client and Attorney Support:
    • Serve as a point of contact between attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
    • Assist with client intake, screening, and communication.
    • Draft basic correspondence and facilitate follow-ups with clients and stakeholders.
  3. Legal Research and Case Management:
    • Perform basic legal research and compile relevant case information for attorney review.
    • Monitor deadlines for filings, hearings, and other case activities.
    • File legal documents with courts and other regulatory bodies.
  4. Billing and Timekeeping:
    • Track billable hours for attorney and client matters.
    • Assist in managing invoices and coordinating with the accounting team for timely processing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Preferred not required 1-3 years of experience in a legal setting (law firm or corporate legal department).
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with e-filing in local, state, or federal courts.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
  • Knowledge of multiple practice areas, such as business law, family law, or estate planning.
