Sunrise Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, has remained dedicated to providing the highest level of comprehensive, personalized dermatologic care for patients of all ages in south Alabama and along the Gulf Coast since 2011. We are a full-service dermatology practice specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. With two fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons on staff, we offer on-site diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers at our Skin Cancer Surgery Center.
We are seeking a Medical Secretary to join our clinic in Mobile, AL, performing various essential office functions and providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answering phone calls, timely voicemail retrieval, and scheduling appointments when appropriate.
- Accurate and thorough chart documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Working daily tasks within the EMR and other necessary systems.
- Processing prescription refill requests.
- Prescription prior authorizations.
- Faxes and emails.
- Assisting dermatologists and medical staff with administrative tasks.
- Handling patient inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive time experience for patients.
- Communicating effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
- Handling sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a registered or certified medical assistant is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Professional phone etiquette.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
