What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUNRISE Dermatology - Mohs Tech-Daphne position at AQUA Dermatology?
This non-regulated position will work with an assigned doctor during Mohs procedures. The duties include Mohs histology procedures, tracking all submitted specimens for processing and diagnosis, and recording the necessary quality assurance and quality control for the Mohs Lab.
Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for specimen handling, storage preservation, and identification; freezing tissue and cutting frozen sections with a microtone; staining and placing a tissue on slides; and prepping reagents.
- Is responsible for the disposal of stains and the upkeep of the work area.
- Keeps equipment operational by following operating instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Updates OSHA and CLIA records.
- Maintains patient identification.
- Documents in EMR as appropriate.
- Troubleshooting with fellow technicians and resolving problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting appropriate corrective steps.
- Conforms to all applicable HIPAA and safety guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
