Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
Location: Seattle, WA. 3 days in-office and 2-day WFH, after initial in-office training is completed.
Reports To: Corporate Controller
Aqua Star is a Seattle based privately-owned, American seafood company founded in 1990. We are a leading global frozen seafood sales, marketing, and distribution enterprise. We serve food service customers, such as restaurant chains and seafood distributors, as well as retail customers: food retailers, retail wholesalers, & club warehouses.
We are looking to fill the role of Accounts Payable Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA. The A/P Specialist is responsible for all aspects of accounts payable including the timely preparation and input of approved invoices and processing payments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high volume invoice entry, including GL coding, successfully in accordance with department volume and accuracy standards
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and escalate as needed to ensure timely payments.
- Manage weekly AP aging report and reconciliation of portfolio of accounts
- Prioritizing payments per payment terms.
- Manage A/P mailbox in shifts with AP team. Responding to vendor and internal inquiries timely.
- Process weekly payments (Check, ACH and Wires) within set deadlines.
- Maintain A/P master accuracy
- Monthly reconciliation of vendor statements, research, and resolve discrepancies.
- Monthly close tasks as assigned.
- Maximize efficiencies, look to automate current processes through procedural improvements.
- Other tasks and projects as needed
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting required
- Minimum 1 year experience in accounts payable preferred
- Ability to be both fast and accurate in a high-volume setting
- File, scan, and maintain orderly files
- Ability to learn and follow procedures quickly
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Customer service oriented
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX desirable
- Experience working with Cashpro, or other banking portals desirable
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting desired or equivalent experience
