Job Summary:
AquaComfort Water Group is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Buyer to join our team. This role focuses on the procurement of electronic, electrical, and mechanical plumbing components to support production and business operations. The Material Buyer will manage vendor relationships, coordinate import logistics, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
- Source and procure electronic, electrical, and mechanical plumbing components based on production needs.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Monitor inventory levels to forecast demand, ensuring stock availability without overages.
Vendor Management:
- Build and sustain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Assess vendor performance and address any quality, delivery, or compliance issues.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify the supply chain.
Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee import logistics, including working with customs brokers and adhering to import/export regulations.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to optimize costs and transit times for inbound shipments.
- Track shipments and resolve issues such as delays or discrepancies.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Prepare and analyze procurement reports to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure import documentation is complete and compliant with all regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or related role.
- Familiarity with electronic, electrical, and mechanical components is preferred.
- Experience working with domestic and international vendors.
- Understanding of import logistics, customs processes, and freight coordination.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
