Shop Assistant Manager
Aquamarine Daydream is a retailer and wholesaler specializing in natural mineral specimens from around the world. We also offer a curated selection of cut and polished stones, jewelry, books, and tarot decks. Our retail store is located on 4th Avenue, and we regularly conduct live sales online.
We are looking for a full time Assistant Manager.
Starting at $18 per hour, with the possibility of a higher rate based on skills and experience. Candidates with expertise or interest in live sales on social media platforms, content creation, marketing, photography, or participation in community events and markets may be considered for a higher starting wage. Candidates with formal training or experience in business management may be considered for a higher level position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of retail management experience.
- Availability to work some nights and weekends.
- Growth mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Experience operating a cash register; experience with Square is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere. Greeting and engaging every customer and making product recommendations.
- Confident, proactive, and willing to take on workplace challenges.
- Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods. Seating is available, but most shifts will be spent standing and moving.
- Detail-oriented with strong self-direction and task management skills. Ability to stay productive when working independently.
- Punctual, reliable transportation, and positive energy in the workplace.
- Assisting in stocking merchandise and ensuring that displays are clean and organized at all times.
- Must be comfortable working alone, have very good self-direction, and task management efficiency. If there are no customers, self-directing tasks to ensure productivity.
