Business Development Representative

AquaPhoenix Scientific is seeking a skilled Business Development Representative with expertise in lead generation and appointment setting. The BDR plays a critical role within the sales function to generate leads through cold calling, follow up on leads generated from various sources, and set up product demos with the Account Executive team.

The BDR will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand target markets, refine messaging, and optimize lead generation strategies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in achieving sales appointment setting targets and lead generation and have a positive and persistent attitude to achieve sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidates for the Business Development Representative position must possess an ability to comprehend, anticipate, and diagnose customer needs, concerns, and objectives while acting quickly with sound decisions to apply basic resolutions. Although not all inclusive, expectations and skills will include:

  • Comfortability with high volume outreach through cold calls and emails.
  • Aggressively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings and/or calls between prospective clients and Account Executives
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns and convert to sales opportunities
  • Present a brief overview of our company to potential clients to gain commitment
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services when appropriate
  • Meet performance-based goals through outbound activity and qualified meetings
  • Report sales results to the Sales Manager on a regular basis
  • Stay up to date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
Requirements:

AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Business Development Representative position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a bachelor's degree and 2 years' work experience in a business development role.

Additional characteristics and skills include but are not limited to:
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving business development sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce/HubSpot)
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in the Technology industry a plus.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
