Software Project Manager (Agile/Scrum Master or PMP)
AquaPhoenix Scientific is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Project Manager with expertise in Agile methodologies and Scrum practices. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of SaaS-based solutions from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
The Software Project Manager will work closely with the software team to provide project scope, goals, and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading and managing software development projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
The opportunity to perform duties remotely will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location, and experience. Any remote work location will be subject to customary travel as reasonably required by the Company and necessary to perform outline job responsibilities including to the Company s corporate offices located in Hanover, PA.
Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:
The ideal candidates for the Software Project Manager and Scrum Master will have proven experience in orchestrating the project development process, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet stakeholder needs and expectations. Must possess an ability to comprehend, anticipate, and diagnose issues while acting quickly with sound decisions to apply basic resolutions. Although not all inclusive, additional responsibilities, expectations and skills will include:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Proven experience as a Software Project Manager, preferable in a role.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Utilize the Scrum methodology to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively (stand-ups, sprints planning, reviews, and retrospectives).
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Track project progress and report on key metrics to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement through retrospective meetings and process optimization.
Desired Skills, Education, and Knowledge
AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Software Project Manager position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field equivalent and 3-5 years work experience in a SaaS environment. Must have proven experience in leading and directing software projects.
Additional characteristics and skills include but are not limited to:
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and Scrum framework
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, Asana, or similar.
- Great communication skills along with leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Working with or managing blended onshore and offshore software development teams.
- Ability to proactively lead, motivate, speak with and train others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in Agile and/or Scrum (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) preferred or Project Management (PMP)
- Experience working in software development or IT industry a plus.
- High degree of attention to detail.
