What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Aquatic Academy?
- Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons.
- Supervises the water activities of swimmers and non-swimmers
- Communicate and enforce all pool rules, regulations, and policies in a personable and professional manner.
- Actively guard and scan the pool area at all times; refrain from socializing while guarding.
- Assists in cleaning the pool area facility (e.g., swimming pool, pool deck, locker rooms, restroom, etc.) to maintain a safe, clean, sanitary environment
- Document via the company reporting system any incidents or injuries.
- Evaluates situations involving swimmers (e.g., improper activities/hazards, persons in distress or danger of drowning, etc.) to take appropriate action and report incidents, written or verbally, to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Dress and appearance are consistent with company standards, including wearing your uniform, swimsuit, guard shirt, whistle, and tube.
- Conduct pool inspections, complete pool water chemistry logs, and report imbalances or concerns to the supervisor.
- Record daily participation numbers and complete daily cleaning assignments.
- Monitors all swimming pool activities (e.g., inappropriate activities, persons in distress, etc.) to ensure participants' safety and welfare and enforce established policies and rules
- Processes various documents to comply with company policies and procedures.
- Responds to inquiries to convey information regarding swimming pool operations.
- Attends scheduled in-service training to convey and gather information required to perform work functions and remain knowledgeable with new operation standards and guidelines.
- Ready and willing to enter the water at any time.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Summary

Reporting to the Pool Manager, your primary responsibilities will include monitoring swimming activities, enforcing safety rules, maintaining a clean and safe environment and providing first aid and CPR when necessary. Your core skills in swimming and emergency response will be critical in maintaining a secure environment. Additionally, your premium skills in pool maintenance and guest services will enhance the overall experience for visitors. Qualifications
- Certified in First Aid and CPR
- Proficient swimming skills with lifeguard certification (AA will conduct American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification course before starting if needed)
- Strong guest service skills to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for equipment and safety measures
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Lifeguard or Swim Instructor: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
