California Sea Grant (CASG) and Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego seek a resourceful, innovative applied marine scientist with a passion for aquaculture research and outreach. This full-time academic position as an Extension Specialist is based in the Biology Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego and reports to the CASG extension director. Duties include building an extension program based on applied research and outreach focused on Southern California aquaculture opportunities that address regional coastal and marine challenges. This position will work closely with Biology Division scientists, other CASG extension specialists and aquaculture stakeholders.Through research, community engagement and education, the successful candidate will be able to develop and disseminate aquaculture information and tools needed to grow sustainable aquaculture in the region while interfacing with a diverse network of stakeholders.Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in ocean sciences with demonstrated experience working in any current or emerging areas related to aquaculture.
