SUMMARY OF POSITION
ARRC is looking for a full-time, experienced, and responsible Construction Site Foreman to join our growing company. This individual will lead and assist the operating crew in building and restoring streams and wetlands using such methods as stream bank stabilization, floodplain restoration, regenerative storm water conveyance, and wetland mitigation BMPs.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Effectively leads, manages, and motivates crews of 3-6 individuals
- Efficiently communicates with project managers and operations team on project needs or concerns
- Competently interprets blueprints, project plans, and specifications
- Responsible for completing daily time sheets and maintaining daily logs
- Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to Operations Department
- Operates heavy construction equipment and trucks such as excavators, track trucks, bulldozers, rubber tire loaders, compact track loaders, tractors, and attachments for equipment
- Construct stream & wetland structures such as boulder & log installation, cross rock vanes, boulder outcrops & toe boulders, rootwads, mudsills, J hooks, step pools and riffles, toe wood, etc.
- Safely operates a variety of tools/equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, variety of heavy equipment and miscellaneous power tools when/as needed
- Ensures construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Safely operates under OSHA & MSHA standards and site specific requirements.
- Operates a truck and trailer when/as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years operating heavy equipment; construction experience is a plus
- Experience working on stream, wetland & floodplain restoration projects is preferred
- Knowledge of traditional survey and GPS survey equipment (Trimble equipment preferred)
- Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have ability to work out of town, leaving Monday and returning Friday. Meals and lodging are provided in those events.
- Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks independently
- Must be able to physically stand, bend, squat, and carry up to 50 pounds
