Summary
The Human Resource Assistant promotes PlayCore mission and values-based culture by assisting in the administration of the human resources policies, programs, and procedures. Acts as primary administrator for benefits, recruiting and staffing programs, employee recognition programs, event planning and employee database and records management. This position is a key role in the Human Resource Department and requires a highly dependable and results-oriented individual.
Responsibilities:
- Updates and distributes Employee Handbook annually.
- Conducts new employee orientation to acclimate new employees to company policies, procedures, history, goals, and objectives.
- Obtains or acquires backgrounds checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Reviews, corrects, and approves employee timecards daily to ensure accuracy.
- Conducts 30-day review with new employees to discuss employment experience, cultural fit, and benefits.
- Presents company training programs and joins monthly Environmental Health and Safety training.
- Assist with submitting Worker’s Compensation Claims and maintaining documentation.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and assist with benefits enrollment.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, conducts exit interviews, and responds to unemployment requests.
- Oversees the benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, 401(k) plans, leave of absence (FMLA), and employee assistance program (EAP).
- Promote safety compliance and assist the Operations functions to ensure safe work environments across all locations.
- Assist with being a resource to assist with management regarding policy interpretation and employment issues.
- Contribute to answering calls and directing to the correct department.
- Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
- At least 1-2 years of human resource management experience
- Certification in Human Resources such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
- Experience with Paycom and UKG
Skills/Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
- Evidence of the practice of high level of confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Vietnamese language communication skills are a plus.
