Aquestia USA is a leading provider of hydraulic control valves and fluid management solutions, serving diverse industries including Waterworks, Fueling, Fire Protection and Industrial markets.
Position Overview: The Blaster uses specialized tools and machinery to remove imperfections, rust, paint, and dirt from hard surfaces. The Blaster is responsible for loading and unloading abrasive materials into the blasting machine, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of the equipment. The Blaster also inspects surfaces after blasting to ensure standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- In all actions support Aquestia’s quality policies, safety policies and core company values of Fairness, Honesty, and Integrity.
- Perform sandblasting operations to clean and prepare surfaces for coating applications effectively removing imperfections, scale, rust, paint, and dirt.
- Load and unload abrasive materials into blasting equipment.
- Ensure proper setup and maintenance of the blasting equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocol including the use of protective gear.
- Inspect surfaces after blasting to ensure required specifications and standards are met.
- Follows established Lean Manufacturing and 6-S procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools or ability to learn within six months.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect and support a positive working culture.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection.
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pound.
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
