What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor, Psychology position at Aquinas College?
Aquinas College invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Psychology. This is a full-time, nine-
month, tenure track position in the Department of Psychology & Counselor Education. The appointment
will begin August 15, 2025.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate psychology
courses as needed in the department as well as courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. The
standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester where each course is 4 credits. Opportunities for
summer contracts to teach additional courses will also be available. Related responsibilities include:
maintaining office hours, advising and mentoring students, scholarly research (especially that which
engages students in research experience), student outreach, and developing and maintaining competence
with web assisted teaching technology.
Qualified candidates will have a Doctorate in Psychology. The ideal candidate will have teaching
experience and evidence of scholarship.
Candidates must be willing to support the Catholic Dominican Mission & Vision of Aquinas College.
