Position: Head Custodian - Resume required, Background and fingerprint required.

Full Time: Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 3:00PM

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this employee is to assign and direct the work of custodians as well as oversee and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the physical facility to support a safe, clean and sanitary environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership:

· Provides direction in the work of the custodians and scheduling of work assignments

· Provides recommendations to superiors/administrators to improve workflow as needed

· Acts as liaison between the staff and supervisors/maintenance/buildings and grounds/school administration/teachers and others as needed

· Acts as a resource person and oversees the orientation and training of new employees

· Orders and maintains a supply inventory to insure an efficient workflow process

· Supervises the maintenance of custodial equipment

· Assists in the budget process through the submission of equipment and project requests

· Responsible for the monitoring of staff performance and reporting performance issues to the Custodial Manager in a timely manner

· Assists the Custodial Manager in covering staffing needs

· Assigns custodial coverage for school events and building rental with the Manager approval

· Attends training classes and meetings as required

· Provides feedback to the Custodial Manager for employee performance evaluations on an annual basis

Cleaning:

· Performs an inspection of the facility daily to ensure all areas are clean prior to the start of school

· Is knowledgeable in the safety issues related to use of chemicals and equipment

· Cleans floors, walls, furniture and other building furnishings

· Cleans and sanitizes restrooms

· Operates cleaning equipment as required to perform job functions

Other Duties

· Coordinate and assist with building programs to insure accurate and timely set ups

· Performs and supervises the policing and maintenance of the grounds i.e. snow removal, litter pick up

· Performs and supervises the opening of the facility, building security and deactivation of the alarms; respond to alarm calls/emergencies

· Assists with the maintenance of a safe environment and reports safety hazards to the appropriate personnel

· Operate the building automation system to provide a comfortable environment while following the energy guidelines (board policy)

· Performs inspections per the preventive maintenance schedule using mobile device through CMMS or other means as assigned

· Complete quality inspections

Minimum Requirements:

· Ability to read labels and understand appropriate written directions. A high school diploma or its equivalent is beneficial.

· Ability to work and perform in a strong team environment

· Available 24/7 in emergency situations via mobile communication

· Must be flexible in meeting the needs of the department

· Ability to bend, lift, and move object in excess of 60#

· Ability to work on a ladder or high places

· Ability to work with hazardous materials

· Ability to pass background and drug screening

· Must be reliable and have a strong attendance record

· Must have the ability to multitask

· Other duties as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour
