Role Responsibilities
The Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for:
• Implementing and managing Aramark's Environmental Management System (EMS) at Glacier Bay Lodge;
• Coordinating and documenting activities related to waste prevention and reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and air quality;
• Researching and updating company, federal, and state environmental regulations and policies, and assisting in applying them to Glacier Bay Lodge operations as needed;
• Conducting weekly inspections of recycling areas, following up on corrective action items, and documenting strengths and weaknesses as appropriate;
• Reporting results to the General Manager and Department Manager, and participating in internal audits for Glacier Bay Lodge within Glacier Bay National Park;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Prior administrative experience;
• A solid understanding of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
• Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Strong interpersonal skills, accuracy, and attention to detail;
• Prior experience in environmental studies is highly recommended;
• The ability to frequent performance of repetitive motions with hands and/or arms;
Working Conditions
Glacier Bay Lodge is a small, 50-room lodge located in a remote wilderness area, accessible only by air or sea. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and independence. They will be required to travel to different areas of the lodge and park to conduct inspections and complete tasks.
