Aramco energizes the world economy.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations’ spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking an Industrial Emissions Business Development Professional to join our Hydrogen Department.

The Hydrogen Department is responsible for advancing the development of low carbon hydrogen business, capturing domestic and global opportunities to monetize the Kingdom’s competitive gas resources and reserves to establish Aramco’s footprint in the clean energy sector.

Your primary role is to contribute and lead activities related to the certification requirements and emission management for Saudi Aramco’s Low-Carbon Hydrogen (LCH) business and its technologies to produce and commercialize clean hydrogen and ammonia. The role will influence strategy shaping and implementation of best practices to enhance the carbon intensity program and for tracing greenhouse gas emissions across the clean hydrogen and ammonia value-chains. Additionally, the function will ensure adopting best-in-class capabilities on carbon capture technologies for optimal positioning of LCH products within various markets and segments.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive carbon intensity assessments for emissions across the hydrogen and its derivatives’ value-chain; including, but not limited to production processes, energy consumption, transportation, and utilization pathways.
  • Evaluate inputs, outputs, and environmental impacts at each stage of the life cycle using Life Cycle Assessment, from raw materials extraction to manufacturing, use, and disposal.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art carbon intensity modeling techniques, tools and software to support CO2 impact assessments of energy solutions, including relevant economic evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities where energy efficiency improvements can be implemented across the value-chain.
  • Manage the low carbon certification process, including understanding the requirements for Saudi Aramco’s Blue Hydrogen and Ammonia production, coordinating data collection, and facilitating the submission of necessary documentation. Evaluate the applicability of different certifications to the organization's objectives and guide stakeholders in selecting the appropriate certification pathway.

Minimum requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, carbon management or a related field from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy sector, with exposure to emissions tracking, management and reporting mechanisms and certification framework.
  • A comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks related to carbon emissions accounting, greenhouse gas reporting, and relevant certification standards
  • Experience in Life Cycle Assessment modelling relevant to climate change and environmental emissions.
  • Excellent understanding of oil & gas, refining and chemical operations and implications on carbon emissions is also necessary
