POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Warehouse Employee specializing in Quality Control for Express Parcels is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing parcels meet the company's quality standards. This role involves inspecting parcels, documenting findings, and coordinating with other departments to maintain high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Parcel Inspection
· Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels for damage, defects, and compliance with company standards.
· Use various tools and equipment to measure and verify parcel dimensions and weight.
- Documentation and Reporting
· Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
· Report any quality issues to the relevant departments and suggest corrective actions.
- Coordination with Departments
· Work closely with shipping, receiving, and inventory teams to ensure seamless operations.
· Communicate effectively with team members to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Compliance and Safety
· Ensure all parcels comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
· Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuous Improvement
· Participate in quality control training and development programs.
· Suggest improvements to quality control processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or quality control role.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use measuring tools and equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move parcels weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
Additional Information
- Familiarity with express parcel handling and shipping procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management standards is beneficial.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Full-time position
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, depending on operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and coordinate measuring machines to assess product dimensions and tolerances.
- Implement and adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles to ensure food safety standards are met.
- Operate vision inspection systems to detect defects or non-conformities in products.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in accordance with FDA regulations.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in internal audits of quality systems and assist in the development of quality control procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in quality control or assurance within a manufacturing or food production environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality inspection techniques and tools, including Calypso software for measurement analysis.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to product safety and quality is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement in quality processes.
