What to Expect :
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sample Coordinator / Prepress Operator to join our team. This hybrid role combines prepress file preparation and hand-bound sample creation, ensuring quality print projects and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do :
- Prepress File Preparation : Receive, review, and adjust digital files (color, resolution, layout) to meet print specifications and quality standards using industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Suite, PREPS, imposition software).
- Conduct preflight checks and collaborate with production to resolve file and printing issues.
- Plate Making : Generate printing plates using CTP technology and monitor plate quality. Maintain accurate records of job specifications and adjustments.
- Hand-Bound Sample Creation : Read and understand press / bindery run sheets. Collect materials and assemble hand-bound samples using hand stitchers, inline stitchers, and a shrink wrapper.
- Inspect samples for print defects, color matching, and overall quality. Buff, polish, and improve sample appearance.
- Collaborate with clients, customer service, and team members.
- Provide technical guidance on file preparation and printing.
- Conduct regular maintenance on prepress and sample preparation equipment.
- Notify supervisors of equipment maintenance needs, quality issues, and low supplies.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Operate a pallet jack.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
