The Prepress Operator is responsible for the overall production of digital data as supplied by customers or created within the department for the purpose of supporting the digital workflow necessary to create the plates used in the printing process.

File Preparation
- Receive and review digital files from clients or internal teams.
- Ensure that files meet print specifications and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments to layout to optimize files for printing.
- Utilize industry-standard software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), PREPS, and other prepress applications.
- Work with imposition software to arrange pages for printing and ensure proper pagination.
- Conduct preflight checks to identify and resolve potential issues with files before printing.
- Collaborate with the production team to address any concerns related to file quality and printing processes.
- Generate printing plates using computer-to-plate (CTP) technology.
- Monitor plate quality and troubleshoot any plate-related issues.
- Collaborate with clients, customer service, and other team members to clarify project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on file preparation and printing capabilities.
- Conduct regular maintenance on prepress equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and address minor technical issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Maintain accurate records of job specifications, adjustments made, and any issues encountered during the prepress process.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of Digital Premedia experience with Prinergy, Preps, and Offset Platemaking preferred.
- Knowledge of printing processes and techniques.
- Must be proficient in current Adobe software including Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard prepress software and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
