The International Student Program Coordinatorserves as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) on record with the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for carrying out federally mandated responsibilities on behalf of the College and ensuring institutional compliance as aStudent and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certified school. Serves as the admissions representative and academic advisor for international students enrolling and enrolled in classes at ACC. Collaborates with the college community in providing support and assistance to all international students. Coordinates all aspects of the International Student program with external and internal stakeholders.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Two years of academic advising or related student affairs experience in an educational setting. Experience maintaining compliance with US Department of Homeland Security Student and Exchange Information System (SEVIS), policies, laws and regulations set forth by higher education governing bodies, local and federal entities or grant requirementsExperience with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for international student exchangeAbility to interact and develop relationships with individuals of varying social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff members and students and administrators and be able to be productive in time sensitive and at times, high-pressured situations.Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Student Development, Education, or a field of study that enhances the individual's ability to assist students in an academic environment. Experience developing retention efforts targeting students who are on academic probation, suspension, or a similar standing.Knowledge of Banner, Navigate, and Microsoft Office suite. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other staff members, students, and administrators, and be able to be productive in time-sensitive and at times, high-pressured situations.
