Activities Assistant

Job Summary
The Activities Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our Memory Care Community. This position involves implementing and engaging activities that follow our monthly activities calendar. The Activity Assistant will work closely with residents to promote social interaction, cognitive engagement, and overall well-being.

Duties

• Implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to residents' needs and preferences.
• Foster a positive environment by encouraging participation in group activities and one-on-one interactions.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
• Document participation in activities and report any changes in resident behavior or condition to the appropriate staff members.
• Support residents with dementia care by providing engaging activities that stimulate memory and cognitive function.
• Maintain a clean and organized activity space, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.

Requirements

• Experience in caregiving or home community care is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
• Understanding of dementia care principles and the ability to engage individuals with varying levels of cognitive function.
• Previous experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care settings is advantageous.
• Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of others through meaningful activities.
• Ability to adapt activities based on individual resident needs and preferences.

This role is essential for creating a vibrant community atmosphere that supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of all residents.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
