The Quality Manager is responsible for the audit and qualification process for Skin Care, Cosmetic (Personal Care), and Nutritional third-party manufacturers (TPMs) and component manufacturers, as well as the root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions for this category, in alignment with the companies’ strategic goal to provide a premium quality product and overall positive customer experience.


This person will work directly with the Director of Quality to develop the department short-term goals and longer-term vision.

What you’ll be doing:


The Quality Manager is responsible for the Arbonne Audit Program - for the qualification, requalification and disqualification of all Personal Care, Cosmetics, and Nutritional TPMs and Laboratories (for Finished Good and Component Manufacturers) in alignment with Arbonne’s expectations as well as local, state and federal regulations.


  • Oversee the Audit Program – creating a detailed supplier audit sheet and schedule, sending and evaluating a self-questionnaire, conducting onsite audits, writing audit reports, maintaining the audit schedule, following up on corrective actions coming from onsite audits, and signing of the Quality Agreement (QAG).
  • Responsible for the evaluation and qualification of new TPMs, labs, and component manufacturers.
  • Responsible for the requalification and disqualification process for existing TPMs, labs, and component manufacturers based on risk assessment.
  • Track and trend key performance indicators for continuous improvement, grading, and recommendation for disqualification of TPMs, labs, and component manufacturers.
  • Identify systemic quality issues and/or implement improvements
  • Analyze data and quality agreements, work on deviations with TPMs, help with stability protocols and data analysis.
  • Represent Quality Management at New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings for newly briefed products.
  • Provide data to support obstacles recognized regarding TPMs quality capabilities as they relate to the new marketing brief.
  • Provide options and action items with due dates for obstacles identified.
  • Responsible for the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) for products made at TPMs.
  • Using Quality Tools, manage the RCA and CAPA process for all levels 1, 2 and 3’s.
  • Work collaboratively with TPM and component manufacturers for RCA and CAPA determination.
  • As needed, prepare presentations and present options to Quality Committee Members when CAPAs effect cross-functional teams or if executive management approval is required.
  • Lead and/or participate in any governmental regulatory activities e.g. audits, product recalls.
  • Develop new and revise existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for associated responsibilities.
  • Ensure all previous Levlad site quality SOPs have been evaluated/incorporated into Arbonne SOPs, authoring new SOPs, and revision of existing SOPs, as part of the document review process.
  • Responsible to create/route/approve Finished Product Specifications for the TPMs, review/investigate and respond to deviations, create and work on change controls, etc.
  • Assist with the clean-up of all quality files and folders that have accumulated over several sharepoint sites.
  • Review, investigate, and document consumer complaints.
  • Assist with creating stability protocols (if needed), evaluation of stability data to update product specifications and parameters.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in the scientific field.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and a minimum of 8 years in Skincare &/or Cosmetic manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in a quality organization as a quality engineer/analyst in a medium to large consumer goods corporate environment.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Tools, cGMPs, and application of principles of statistics, statistical sampling techniques, and statistical process control.
  • Strong quality mindset and experience with Third Party Manufacturers
  • Experience collaborating closely with TPMs and working in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, make presentations and write concise reports for all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to handle multiple detail-oriented tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (ISO standards, FDA requirements, etc.)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification as a Quality Auditor, Engineer or Manager through ASQ or other recognized organization.
  • Experience in direct sales or network marketing organization a plus
  • Experience working with FDA in audits or with regulatory reporting.
  • knowledge and understanding of color cosmetics – how to color match and evaluate the color cosmetic product from a quality perspective.
