Minimum Experience
Prefer at least 2 years of related work experience.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
License and/or certifications
Valid North Carolina Driver’s license. Demonstrated safe driving record.
Ability to successfully complete training to drive the 10 passenger van, 15 passenger mini-Thomas, 15 passenger Eldorado, 14 passenger wheelchair bus, wheelchair accessible vans, properly tie down wheelchairs and operate the wheelchair lift.

Duties and Responsibilities
Take transportation needs from residents and staff and create a daily transportation schedule.
Coordinate all appointments with doctors’ offices and clinics.
Check with all Medical Unit Secretaries each day to ensure that all appointments are scheduled for the next day.
Schedule additional drivers when needed and schedule all escorts when family is unable to accompany resident.
Assist in driving residents to and from medical and other health related appointments.
Assists residents into and out of vehicles and into and out of the office of the facility serving the resident.
Represents the Continuing Care Department in all interactions with residents. Offers encouragement and support while providing transportation services and reports resident needs or concerns to the Vice-President of Health Services or the nursing staff.
Provide courier service to stat labs for nursing when available.
Keep records of vehicle usage and mileage. Report monthly mileage to CFO.
Use daily transportation schedule to track number of transports by driver and level of care. Send this report quarterly to Vice-President of Health Services.
Assist with ELITE transportation as needed.
Performs other reasonable duties requested by Vice-President of Health Services.
