We are looking for an experienced Front Desk Medical Receptionist who can grow with our practice.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be in the heart of a fast-paced medical clinic directly interfacing with prospective and current patients (and sometimes their parents) to meet a diverse set of needs over the course of their year-long program. You will help to coordinate care and support clinical staff members in fulfilling patient requests. You will seek to make patients comfortable and become familiar with their names, personalities, and preferences to ensure a high-level of patient satisfaction. You will also become familiar with the many supplements that we carry on-site and can help fill orders accurately and quickly.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering excellent customer service to both patients and staff with a friendly, warm, engaging attitude.
- Greeting patients during check in and assisting patients during check out.
- Scheduling patients over the phone or during check out.
- Handling the incoming requests via phone, fax, mail, email, patient portal, and text – taking care of what you can, and triaging the remainder quickly and efficiently.
- Supporting the medical providers as needed by prioritizing tasks, handling administrative requests, and other duties as requested.
- Filling supplement orders in office and by mail.
- Administrative duties: emailing, faxing, scanning, shredding, scheduling appointments, etc.
- Billing: Checking patients out, notifying patients when the have a balance due or credit cards need updating.
- Light Cleaning: Creating a pleasant environment for patients and staff by maintaining common areas of the facility in a clean and tidy manner.

- You are comfortable with Microsoft office tools like Outlook, Word, Excel, and entering data in online systems such as electronic medical records.
- You like to work with a team and independently.
- You are a go-getter who is always looking for new ways to help out.

Qualifications
- Required Education: College degree or equivalent experience
- Preferred Experience: 2 years of reception experience in a medical or other upscale professional office (law firm, etc)
Special Skills
- Understanding medical terminology and patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of Functional Medicine and common supplements a plus
- Ability to build rapport with youth and parents of children with difficult behaviors
- Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting, some standing, walking and some light lifting; extensive keyboarding; phone use.

Working Environment
Arbor Health is based in a beautiful historic house set back from the road on lush grounds across from the Erie Canal walking path in the heart of Bushnell’s Basin in Pittsford, NY. Restaurants and stores are located within walking distance. Work is performed in an interior office setting with moderate to low noise level.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
