About The Role

The Design Center Manager oversees the design aspects of the home purchasing journey, ensuring a seamless selection process and effective communication among internal teams, vendors, and homebuyers. This role manages the Design Center operations, including interior product offerings, customer appointments, while collaborating with sales and construction teams. The Design Center Manager is responsible for achieving performance benchmarks, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and upholding company values of simplicity, accountability, and operational excellence.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Oversee the weekly output of the Design Center and ensure we are hitting weekly performance targets.
  • Manage PTO, model decoration schedules, re-selections, and other workloads to meet operational goals.
  • Ensure customer appointments run smoothly, within allotted timeframes, and adherence to processes.
  • Build trust with clients by effectively communicating product information, features, and pricing.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and coach Design Consultants to deliver exceptional service and achieve performance goals.
  • Conduct regular reviews with team members, focusing on training, development, and individual growth to achieve their full potential and meet performance expectations.
  • Invest time weekly with each team member to discuss successes, issues, and development opportunities.
  • Manage Design Center products, coordinating with vendors to maintain accurate sample displays and replace discontinued options.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to optimize product lineups in alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and construction teams when product disruptions require changes in selections or offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve option margins and increase total revenue based on pricing and customer demand.
  • Attend regular meetings, including Sales Meetings, Ops Meetings, and Sales Strategy Meetings.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to monitor Design Center performance and address backlog or scheduling concerns.
