This position will be located onsite in the Chicago Corporate Office in West Loop.
Summary:
The Corporate Director of Accounting will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial planning, reporting, and intercompany accounting across multiple entities. This position entails managing key accounting activities, ensuring financial compliance with internal and external policies, and ensures accuracy of AP/AR and treasury functions, including bank reconciliation and loan payments. The Corporate Director of Accounting will work closely with the executive team to enhance accounting processes, maintain accurate financial records, and support overall business operations. This role reports directly to the CEOs of Arbor Lodging.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partner with executive leadership to lead and manage annual budgets, as well as collaborate to develop financial forecasts.
- Develop and maintain practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manage a multitude of accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank/balance sheet reconciliations, and financial report preparation.
- Monitor and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Manage and review management fees, intercompany, and asset management fees across various entities.
- Manage funds transfers, loan payments, and treasury functions across entities.
- Review all corporate expense submissions to ensure transactions comply with corporate policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- A minimum of 7-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or related industry
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
- QuickBooks experience preferred
- Effective management, leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
