The Regional Manager plays a pivotal role at our organization—working closely with site leaders, school administrators, and students to ensure our afterschool programs are thriving, impactful, and aligned with our mission.

What a typical day is like for a Regional Manager:

• Visiting one of your school sites to collaborate with a Site Coordinator on lesson planning, identifying training needs, and brainstorming fresh, engaging programming ideas.
• Meeting with a school principal to co-create meaningful events that spark student interest and promote learning.
• Reviewing budgets to ensure sites are meeting financial goals and using resources effectively.
• Monitoring attendance across your region and ensuring compliance with average daily attendance targets.
• Partnering with a parent to provide personalized support for a student’s success.
• Facilitating a staff training session to strengthen your team’s skills and promote continuous growth.

Essential functions of this role:

• Oversee the overall success and quality of after school and enrichment programs at assigned partner sites.
• Manage daily operations at your sites, ensuring programming runs smoothly, safely, and effectively.
• Conduct site visits at least once a month to provide hands-on support and guidance to site teams.
• Attend district-wide meetings and ensure timely completion of all district and internal deadlines.
• Foster a physically and emotionally safe environment for students and staff, promoting positive youth development.
• Support the use of engaging, hands-on activities that promote student growth, leadership, and self-confidence.
• Build strong relationships and maintain consistent, clear communication with school administrators, community partners, staff, and supervisors.
• Ensure 100% compliance with attendance goals, student sign-in/out procedures, and accurate program reporting.
• Monitor and manage site budgets to ensure financial accountability and adherence to guidelines.
• Help identify and bring in community partners to provide dynamic, student-centered enrichment activities.
• Ensure all sites maintain compliant Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) records.
• Uphold Arc’s policies, procedures, and program quality standards at every site.
• Maintain organized schedules, meet all deadlines, and prepare programs and deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate effectively with families, school staff, students, and community stakeholders to strengthen program support.
• Ensure all activities align with state and federal regulations, as well as district educational goals and priorities.
• Coordinate and support events, activities, and meetings involving school administrators, families, and the broader community.
• Lead and manage full-time and part-time staff, including specialized instructors and volunteers, with a focus on coaching, development, and performance excellence.
• Provide ongoing training and performance assessments to ensure high-quality programming.
• Oversee staff schedules, approve timecards, manage time-off requests, and step in as needed to ensure student safety and program continuity.
• Ensure staff are informed about and compliant with California wage and hour laws and organizational expectations.
• Stay organized and proactive—managing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to meet key deadlines and deliverables for all stakeholders.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in after school program operations, administration, or related youth development settings.
• Solid understanding of California educational grants, compliance requirements, and reporting protocols.
• Tech-savvy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with multiple operating systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively, problem-solve efficiently, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working in after school programs, recreational facilities, or youth-serving organizations.
• Committed to equity and inclusion, with experience working in culturally and ethnically diverse communities.
• Positive, energetic, and highly motivated individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Must pass a TB test and Live Scan background check.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a significant plus.
